Daily Protocols to be aware of:
Two and a half weeks in and things are moving smoothly here at VES! Each year it amazes me how quickly students learn procedures and practices in the classroom, in hallways, on playgrounds and in the cafeteria. With explicit guided practice from all staff, students quickly learn expectations. It is evident children are feeling welcome and safe here at VES. The staff appreciates the support you are giving your child at home by reading newsletters and emails and establishing routines that support your child's learning here at school. I wanted to share a few reminders as well as a few new expectations with families. As in the past, I am asking that the handicapped spaces remain open and available for families and community members who require these spaces. The lined spaces in between the handicapped spots also need to remain open. We have had a few instances already this year where the spaces were not available for those who require this space and it's difficult to track down the owners of vehicles. Please join our staff in leaving these spaces open for those who have a handicapped license plate or sign. As an added safety precaution for students and families, we are now asking that all dogs remain off VES property at all times. It has been past practice to not allow dogs on the fields at VES, but this is now extending to all areas of VES. Please be sure to leave all dogs and other pets at home or in vehicles during drop off and pick up procedures. Signs are being posted as a reminder. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this. April Noble, Principal, VES |
Thank you to those families who made it out the first VPG social event! We went though 150 Popsicles and 6 full watermelons!! It was such a beautiful night and a great turnout. The next VPG meeting is on Tuesday October 6 at 9:15 and children are welcome.

We are starting a marker recycling program through Crayola. The drop off will be in the front doorway in the recycling station. If you have old and worn out markers, of any brand, they can be recycled through this program!
